HIA-LI Recognizes Business Excellence in a Tough Economy
On September 12th the Crest Hollow Country Club will open its doors from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm to the HIA-LI 18th Annual Business Achievement Awards Gala. Long Island companies are some of the best in the world! This event draws over 400 business leaders from all across the Island making it one of the best places to do business and build relationships. The Keynote Speaker will discuss economic initiatives and what it takes to be a great company on Long Island.
The Business Achievement Awards are given to a Large Business (100 or more employees), Small Business (less than 100 employees), Rookie of the Year (companies that have been operating less than five years) and a Not-for-Profit Organization.
The award criteria is a) positive employer/employee relations, b) commitment to the growth or betterment of the Long Island business community and c) the three to five year vision for the company's future. Criteria also includes a) recent outstanding accomplishments, b) technical innovation or innovative processes, c) expansion into new markets and d) industry leadership.
Past Winners and finalists have included in the large business category Amneal Pharmaceuticals (winner) , Delta Computer Group, Grassi & Company and Posillico. In the small business category Fuoco Group (winner) Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP and Sunation Solar Systems.
In the Not-For-Profit and Rookie of the year categories were Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County (winner) , Community Development Corp. of LI, Seatuck Environmental Association, YMCA of Long Island, Inc., Bizmark Golf, Island Pro Digital (winner) and Vetter Environmental Sciences Inc.
“Business today is tough and competitive on Long Island," said Terri Alessi–Miceli, President of the HIA - LI. “Our members ability to do things better and more effective and understand how important it is to get positive exposure is key. To listen and learn about success stories is critical to their own success.”
This is a way of recognizing both finalists and winning companies that have successfully met competitive challenges, have had a significant community impact, and have made commitments to growth on Long Island.
